Here in Southlake, we're in the people business. That's why we love celebrating travel and tourism. Travel is all about people discovering new experiences and coming home with a story to tell. Whether you hang your hat in Southlake or just visit, we're honored to join you in telling these stories.
We are also honored to join the U.S. Travel Association in celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week. This year, National Travel & Tourism Week takes place May 7-13. This is a collective effort to promote the power of travel through customized events in communities nationwide.
The ultimate goal is to enhance the country's economy, security and perception, and recognize the cultural and social benefits created by travel and tourism. Click here to learn more, and read on below to see how we're celebrating Southlake (and you) during this special week!
Let’s Celebrate Travel
This year’s National Travel & Tourism week theme is “Faces of Travel,” and that includes you! Your stories make our community a premier destination, and with your help, we will continue to help Southlake thrive. That’s why we want YOU to share your Southlake story. There are countless reasons to love our city, but we want to know why you choose Southlake as your home, your home away from home, or your getaway destination!
In honor of our countless faces of travel, we’re hosting a giveaway that celebrates you and your “Why Southlake” story.
Publish a photo of you or you and your family at your favorite Southlake destination. It can be a restaurant, a park, a trail or an art installation—as long as it’s your favorite, it works! Explain why you love this location, then tag the Visit Southlake, Texas Facebook page and use the hashtags “WhySouthlake” and “nttw17.” The post with the most shares will win a special Experience Southlake package that includes…
A $150 gift card to a Southlake restaurant, four movie theater passes and an overnight at the new Cambria Hotel!
Entries to this giveaway will be accepted in between May 7 and May 13—the duration of this year’s National Travel & Tourism Week! Furthermore, stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram channels for stories from our other “Faces of Travel”—the business and city leaders who embody “The Southlake Way” and, through their passion and exemplary customer service, make our home a jewel in the North Texas crown.
Happy National Travel & Tourism Week, and as always, thank you for helping us tell the stellar Southlake story!
